The Ultimate Happiness Prescription by Deepak Chopra
After reading through some of the FAQs and How-To's, I proceeded to download this title by Mr Chopra, as I've long intended to open of his books but never reached out and actually did it. I was pleased to find the first chapter focusing on awareness of the body, as this is something that I can relate to at this time in my life.
I am cautious of what my body ingests, and I have become very active, even in the face of winter, and I feel better than ever before. Bigger, stronger, faster.
Some 2010 goals to keep me feeling this way:
Climb 60,000 vertical feet.
Ski descent on a Colorado 14er.
Skydive Moab.
Biking the 100-mile White Rim Trail:

ReplyDeleteAWEsome photo, & your "Bigger, stronger, faster" sounds very like the Olympic creed. Go man go!
ReplyDeleteIt also sounds like he's confessing that the real reason he is feeling better is because he's been taking performance enhancing drugs.
ReplyDeleteYou forgot your other health oriented goal for the year-finishing Gilmore Girls seasons 2 and 3!
(you could watch on a treadmill....)
Clint of Skydive Moab will be thrilled to have you jump a tandem with his business.
ReplyDeleteSince you are a skier, for 2011, consider winter in Moab. The La Sal Mountains have two ski huts sleeping ten people. A snowcat service hauls gear in. An outhouse path out the backdoor, two burner cook top stove, wall lamps, and thermostat controlled radiant heat, all powered by propane round out the hut amenities.
Ski either 5 or 8 miles to reach the hut and have access to backcountry slopes.
avalanche. org has a running snow report for Moab's mountains (Mt Peale rises to 12,777 ft by-the-way).
Nice goals.
You might enjoy a Vimeo piece by Sonja Wieck. She placed 3rd in the women's division for the Moab Mas 50 race this February. You might add it some year to your list to do too.
Amazing stuff! Great goals too, I hope you do it. And remember you can always play creed to get body running. :P
ReplyDeleteOr the Carpenters. What?
